‘This must mean something bad.’

She thought, as the words ‘trauma team’ came overhead.

From the tight confines of the back of the ambulance

to the bright lights of the trauma room.

It seemed like she was on a stage.

And everyone was curious.

“What is it like up there?” they ask her.

But she can’t breathe.

She can’t see.

And then, the bright lights go dim.
